These rules and regulations (the “Rules”) apply to the RIVER CITY ROCKS competition (the “Competition”), a musical talent search competition. For the purpose of these Rules, the Competition begins at 9:00 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) on April 10, 2012 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CT on June 15, 2012 (the “Competition Period”).
ELIGIBITY
The Competition is open to vocalists or musical groups, all members of which are residents of Manitoba, who have attained the age of eighteen (18) at the time of entry, who have access to the internet and are the rightful owner (or have authorized use of) the email address provided on the Entry (as defined below) (an “Entrant”). Employees, shareholders, officers, directors, agents and representatives of CJKR-FM, Corus Entertainment Inc., (“Corus”), Supernova Interactive Inc. (“Supernova”), Manitoba Music and Quest Musique (together with CJKR-FM, Corus, and Supernova, the “Sponsors”), or any affiliate of any of the foregoing (the “Sponsor Entities”), together with immediate family members and/or household members of such persons, are not eligible to enter the Competition. For purposes of these Rules, "immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, legal guardians, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses, and "household members" shall mean those people who share the same residence at least three months a year. You are ineligible to enter the Competition if, as of the time of entry, you (or any co-creators of the Musical Submission, as defined below, or any band members associated with the Musical Submission is a party to a music recording contract, are currently distributed directly or indirectly by a major record company, or are under any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit you (or any such other persons) from submitting any aspect the Musical Submission for entry into the Competition or that would restrict or prohibit the broadcast of a Musical Submission or would prohibit you or any other person from accepting any prize.
HOW TO ENTER – 9:00 a.m. CT, April 10, 2012 to 11:59 p.m. CT, May 15, 2012 (the “Entry Period”)
To be eligible for consideration in the Competition, Entrants must:
All aspects of a Musical Submission must comply with the requirements outlined in Section 3 of these Rules. Each Entrant may, at their election, populate his or her Profile with photographs and other personal information, although the submission of such information will not be required to be eligible for consideration.
MUSICAL SUBMISSIONS -- REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible, Musical Submissions must meet the following guidelines and content restrictions:
Entrants must be able to provide, on request, all appropriate clearances, permissions and releases in writing for the songs, including permissions and releases from all persons considered a co-creator of the Musical Submission. In the event an Entrant cannot provide all required releases, CJKR-FM reserves the right to disqualify the applicable Musical Submission, or seek to secure the releases and clearances for CJKR-FM’s benefit.
Musical Submissions that are found to violate any of these requirements may be deemed ineligible to participate and/or to receive the prize and may, in CJKR-FM’s sole discretion, be disqualified. ENTRANTS MUST SUBMIT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE OFFICIAL RULES. NO OTHER METHOD OF SUBMISSION WILL BE ACCEPTED.
CHANGES TO ENTRY
If, in CJKR-FM’s sole discretion, any Entrant makes a change during the Competition Period to the number of performers in the musical group resulting in a material change in the nature and/or quality of any of any aspect of a Musical Submission, that Entrant may be disqualified.
ROUND ONE – ONLINE VOTING – 12:00 a.m. PST on May 16, 2012 – 11:59 PST on June 15, 2012 (the “Voting Period”)
Listeners may vote for their favorite Entrant during the Voting Period by visiting the Website and creating a “Fan Profile”. The twenty (20) Entrants who receive the most votes (the “Finalists”) will be posted on the Website after 9:00 a.m. CT on June 16, 2012. Only one (1) vote may be cast per person per day. Each vote cast will be displayed in a log with a visible IP address to prevent impropriety.
ROUND TWO – JUDGES’ SELECTION – 12:00 a.m. CT on June 16, 2012 – 11:59 CT on July 2, 2012 (“Judging Period”)
Judges will select the top four (4) Finalists as the winners of the Grand Prize, as defined below. One (1) of the Grand Prize winners will be announced during the Evening Show with Holly Bausman at 6:45 p.m. CT on each of the following dates, in no particular order:

THE GRAND PRIZE AND GRAND PRIZE VALUE
Each Grand Prize consists of the following:
Each Promotional Package will consist of (i) three (3) live mentions per day during the Promotional Period, (ii) production of one (1) promotional spot and broadcast thereof twice per day during the Promotional Period, (iii) one (1) e-blast to all Power Insider members during the Promotional Period, and (iv) inclusion in the CJKR-FM Concert Listing on www.power97.com during the Promotional Period. Grand Prize Winners are entirely responsible for booking and organizing the concert event to be promoted in the Promotional Package. The Promotional Package will be available to Grand Prize Winners for a period of no longer twelve (12) months from the date of being declared the Grand Prize Winner.
THE GRAND PRIZE VALUE
Each Grand Prize has an approximate retail value of $7,400.
LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF ENTRIES PERMITTED
Only one Entry per vocalist or musical group is permitted.
CHANCES OF WINNING
Chance of winning depends on the total number of Entrants.
ALL PRIZES TO BE ACCEPTED AS AWARDED
All decisions the judges are final. The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded. No portion of the Grand Prize is transferable. The Grand Prize is not redeemable for cash and no substitute for any portion of the Grand Prize is offered. Should any Entrant be unable to claim the Grand Prize as offered, his or her entry will be forfeited.
TERMINATION/MODIFICATION
Subject to applicable law, the Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, suspend, terminate, modify the Rules or administration of the Competition, in whole or in part, without prior notice with no obligation or liability, including, if for any reason, the Competition is not capable of running as planned, whether due to technical failure, tampering, fraud, corruption of security or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsors. The Sponsors and their respective advertising and promotional agencies reserve the right to substitute the Grand Prize or any component thereof.
OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES
All entries shall become the property of the Sponsors and their advertising and promotional agencies. The Releasees assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, destroyed or otherwise indecipherable entries due to any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone network, on-line computer systems of equipment, servers, access providers, software, poor reception, technical problems, failure of any email or submission or due to any other reason regardless of cause.
PUBLICITY
By entering the Competition, each Entrant winner consents to the use of his or her name, city of residence, photograph, voice, likeness, image or any other aspect of his or her personality for any publicity and programming purposes relating to the Competition, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by the Sponsors, promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies, without any payment or compensation.
CONSENT TO COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
By entering the Competition and voluntarily providing personal information including, but not limited to, name, address, city, email address, home and office telephone numbers (the “Registrant Information”), each Entrant grants permission to the Sponsors to collect and use of the Registrant Information for the exclusive purpose of administering the Competition and selecting the winners. No correspondence will take place between the Sponsors and the Entrants except in connection with the Competition.
By entering the Competition, Entrants are not becoming members of the social networking site known as “Supernova” located at www.supernova.com (the “Supernova Site”). Entrants may, at their option, elect to become a member of the Supernova Site. Any personal information or other material submitted by an Entrant in connection with his or her membership to Supernova, and any activity undertaken as a member of Supernova or on the Supernova Site will be governed by the Supernova Terms of use agreement and Privacy Statement, both dated February 1, 2007, and not by these Rules. Membership in Supernova is not required to be eligible for the Competition, and no information posted to the Supernova Site will be considered relevant to the Competition.
TAMPERING
If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsors that corrupts, impairs or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Competition, the Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend the Competition and/or prizes. The Sponsors further reserve the right to disqualify, from the Competition and future contests of the Sponsors, any individual who tampers with or in any way corrupts the entry process. The Sponsors may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Competition or winning a prize if, in the Sponsors’ sole discretion, the Sponsors determine that an Entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition by cheating, hacking, deception, or any unfair playing practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or the Sponsors representatives. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages (including lawyers’ fees) from any such entrant or any other individual to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

COMPLIANCE WITH RULES
All contestants agree to abide by these Rules, which are subject to change at the sole discretion of the Sponsors.
COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS
The Competition is void where prohibited by law, and is subject to all federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations of Canada and of each province, territory and municipality of Canada, respectively.
