Description

Congratulations to Surrey’s Grand Theft Radio! They’ll be representing the West Coast at NXNE 2008. Band members Fraser Readman, Trevor Hardy, Jamie Daviduk, Mike Ewacha, and Sean McGowan will be flying out to Toronto, be put up in a hotel, get $2000 cash, and perform live as part of NXNE 2008.

Redpipe.ca National Online Vote:
Opened: March 17th @ 12:00AM EST
Closed: March 31st @ 11:59PM EST

Supernova validates all votes to discourage dishonest voting. #1 band when poll closes will not be an accurate indication of the winning band. Winning band will be announced when all votes have been processed and false ballots have been tossed out.

please disregard karens comments. We from C.C understand that it looks like there was cheating. From the IP's it was people from schools who knew the band and who liked the music in terms of Chasing Curiosity. Karen, you have no idea about the whole situation so please do not comment like you do. we understand that some votes may have been disregarded, but please refrain from calling anyone (band, supernova, fans) a cheater. We do thank you for your support, but again you dont know the situation.

I hope no one thinks the song that plays when you get to this site is Grand Theft Radio. I wonder if there is any way to make it go away.

There isn't one IP per University. Look at the Universities and Colleges in BC! UVIC, UBC, Kwantlen University, Simon Fraser, Douglas College. Don't tell me that out of those 5 guys, not one of them doesn't go to, or doesn't know anyone who goes to any of those schools. Same thing with the other band. They could all be in school for all you know. I was hounded several times a day to vote and never did. Then I saw that it was almost done and got off my lazy ass and voted. I told other people to vote while I signed up too. SO FU*K OFF YOU PARANOID COOCOOS!

ITS CALLED LAST DITCH EFFORT TO TELL FANS TO VOTE!

Cheated or not?! I think that every band tried to mobilize as many voters as possible. My family for example has only one PC and ergo the same IP-address. I think the option Elvis came up with would be fairer and I don't have to hear that my parents (75 and 73) are accused as cheaters! I don't believe that all of the votes are honest but even with a 10% penalty the first two bands would have made the race. And are all the other bands the ones with a white west? So how to make a fair decision whom to penalize or not? So fans, suck it up! The future will tell if the bands deserved the voting in those battles, national or not. GTR and CC: good luck and we will see what you guys can serve in times ahead.

Leannerr says:I want to thank everyone at Simon Fraser University and Kwantlen University College who took the time today to break from their studies, papers, end of semester projects, etc and vote for Grand Theft Radio. It really meant a lot to see that kind of support. I think that we were able to earn some new fans and hopefully we can see some of you out at a show some time soon!

Congratulations to all bands in the competition in making it this far. It's been an insane couple of months.

Whatever the outcome of tomorrow's announcement, I definately stand by what others before me have said: Every band here is a winner! So, your saying, all the university voted at 2 minutes interval each time? That's a shame.

It's a shame. We all know that the two first band cheated. You had 90 votes in 2 hours the first day, grand theft radio, And the last day of voting, you got 150 votes just like that. Your putting that on the University voting or different building, but if your voting from the same building, you should get the same IP, not only the last number changing, so please admit that you were cheating. You won't get anything in life if you act like that. It's a shame that it's not a talent performance, but an online vote, because you probably would'nt be in first place right now. Congratz tho, for all non-cheating bands. Music is a hard buisiness but at least you will be able to live with yourself. For the cheating band, congrats on having a laptop, and a lot of time on your hands.

I agree with the bands below me. Yes, we are a band from Buffalo and we have also made it to the National Finals in the U.S and looking forward to the voting but I think EVERY band listed above - No matter what percentage they have - Are winners. They all Ruled on stage! First - Second - wild card? It doesn't matter. If you are in the voting, winning or not. You ARE a winner. So Pat you're self on the back guys! You're ALL WINNERS!! I mean that! <3 God Bless guys! And keep rockin from the heart!

We're going to have to agree with Chasing Curiosity. This vote, this whole series has been so much fun, and a heck of a ride. It is a shame that several accusations towards several members of this vote have been made, but it is what it is, and what comes as a result will come. Canada does have great music, and it's so great that everyone can have a way to showcase it. Best of luck to everyone in this Series, and thanks to all who have supported us along the way!
